President On Strike

-
According to reporting by MSNBC, "during a highly unusual appearance in the Rose Garden on Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced that he would not work with congressional Democrats as long as they persist in investigating him."

Apparently, he’d just stormed out of a meeting with Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer regarding infrastructure legislation and called an impromptu quasi press conference in the Rose Garden.  Of course, the “impromptu” nature of the hissy fit is somewhat suspect given the fact that his podium was decked with finished posters which displayed statistics supporting his assertion that the investigations have been wastes of time and money.

President Donald Trump claims he was motivated to make the speech after Pelosi and Schumer ambushed him by bringing up the topic of impeachment during the meeting.  Yet, it seems more than a little coincidental that his rant came on the heels of him having two significant court rulings turn against him.

A federal judge in New York ruled that the president could not block a congressional subpoena compelling Deutsche Bank to turn over their records regarding their business dealings with Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, a federal judge in Washington ruled that the House Oversight and Reform Committee has the legal authority to subpoena President Trump’s financial records, dating back to 2011, from his accounting firm, Mazars USA LLP.

In addition to the court rulings, The Washington Post obtained an internal IRS memo contradicting Secretary Munchin’s claim that Congress doesn't have the right to subpoena President Trump's tax returns.

In a nutshell, Donald didn't like where the strike zone was being called, so he took his ball and went home.  Yes my fellow Americans, our President is on strike.  Until he gets his way, there will be no progress in Washington concerning healthcare, immigration, or anything else.  I, for one, can't think of a better reason for impeachment.
